The initiative
The initiative, led by Positano, aims to tell the story of the Coast with a modern and sustainable approach, proposing a journey that ranges from artistic and archaeological beauties, to nature trails, to the flavors of local food and wine, up to intangible treasures such as music and folklore.
The project will be officially presented on Friday 6 June at 19 pm with a grand opening event in the streets of Positano, enlivened by over 20 artists including musicians and dancers, and will culminate in a concert by the iconic voice Peppe Barra at the Spiaggia Grande.
“This project demonstrates that working together can achieve extraordinary results,” says Giuseppe Guida, mayor of Positano. “It is the first time that our heritages come together in a single cultural and tourist narrative, with a strong and modern voice.”
Among the planned initiatives, a documentary film on the 13 municipalities, a bilingual website and app, interactive information totems, an international promotional spot, an eBook and a paper book, and above all a calendar of 13 events - one for each municipality - including theater, music, dance and flavors, which will liven up the Coast in the coming months.
For Councilor Michele De Lucia, “this is a fundamental cultural and identity turning point”, while the artistic director Giulia Talamo underlines how the shows represent “an authentic and sustainable valorization of the Coast”.
“Amalfi Coast UNESCO World Heritage” is much more than a project: it is a cultural pact that builds a connected Amalfi Coast, narrated and valorized as a whole, with an eye towards the future and millenary roots.
On June 6th, a new narrative will be ignited, destined to make the Coast a cultural beacon in the Mediterranean.
