Napoli– The extraordinary checks ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters to combat drug trafficking in the most sensitive neighborhoods of the city continue. Yesterday afternoon, officers from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station, with the support of a canine unit from the General Prevention Office, arrested a 46-year-old Neapolitan, already known to the police, on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The operation took place in Corso IV Novembre, where the police carried out a search at the man's home. The intervention of the drug-sniffing dog was decisive, allowing them to identify 16 blocks of hashish for a total of about 1,3 kg, two packages of cocaine and a precision scale.
During the same service, the checks were also extended to via Mastellone, where the officers found, hidden between a wall and an iron structure, approximately 150 grams of cocaine/crack and another scale. In a cellar, moreover, a real deposit was discovered: 129 blocks of hashish, for a total weight of approximately 15 kg.
The man was immediately arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The investigations are continuing to trace the drug dealing chain and any accomplices.
