A great public demand, the Teatro Lendi in via A. Volta 176 (provincial road Frattamaggiore-Sant'Arpino), adds two dates for “I fiori del latte”, the show by Biagio Izzo that will be performed on Saturday 3 November and Sunday 4 November (21.00:7 pm), in addition to the dates already announced from 9 to 21.00 November (2018:2019 pm), dates that officially open the XNUMX/XNUMX season with a national preview. The show, written by Eduardo Tartaglia and directed by Giuseppe Miale di Mauro, features, together with Biagio Izzo, Mario Porfito, Angela De Matteo, Stefano Jotti, Stefano Meglio and Ivan Senin.
“If an idea has no meaning and social utility, I’m not interested in working on it”. Tartaglia most likely fully understood these words of Eduardo De Filippo when he wrote I Fiori del Latte. In fact, in this comedy (as the great Eduardo taught us) you can laugh even when dealing with a very topical and socially reflective theme: “the land of fires”. The story is set in a dairy factory that is about to open in an invented town (Casal di sotto Scalo) where two cousins, Aniello and Costantino, after years of sacrifice, decide to invest all their savings in a company that aims to become an organic model, an ecological oasis where every product is natural, without chemical additives or other devilry. A dairy factory, in short, that aims to become the flagship of an area known in the news for the dumping of toxic waste. Unfortunately, however, on the eve of the inauguration the two cousins will discover that under the fence of the buffaloes there are some suspicious bins that could ruin their biological dream. This discovery will grip the two protagonists in a vortex of doubts. What to do? Report everything and have the company closed before it even opens, or pretend nothing happened and continue with this terrible specter that devours their consciences?
The strength of this comedy lies in its ability to tackle such a current and burning issue, always mixing fun and comedy with reflection and social issues, without ever falling into easy moralisms or banal judgments. Tartaglia's writing manages to dismantle with great irony and comic force the painful discovery of a life poisoned by complicated choices. With all the sincerity and simplicity that these two Neapolitan "cowboys" give us, struggling with apparently insurmountable pangs of conscience. It will be the arrival of a woman (Aniello's ex-girlfriend) who hides shocking news, that will give them the strength to face a destiny bigger than them and reap the fruits that the two cousins have cultivated with honesty for a lifetime.
Another national preview completes the November calendar, “Colpo di scena” with Carlo Buccirosso (from 28 to 30 November). Also this year at the Lendi the announced sold out of Massimo Ranieri will arrive who from 5 to 7 December will be on stage with “Malia Napoletana”, a journey through the great classics of Neapolitan song revisited in jazz style, from “Malafemmina” by Totò to “Dove sta Zazà”, passing through “Strada 'nfosa” by Modugno and “Torero” by Carosone. From 26 to 28 December the stage will be of Peppe Iodice, very popular and extraordinary comic champion now consolidated darling of the public with “Un Natale all'improvvisa”, which reviews the tics, habits, customs and bad habits of those who, overweight and fleeing from the tables laden with food, will head to the theater to attend a real salad of reinforcement of comedy. In January there is Federico Salvatore who in “Malalengua” (from 9 to 11 January) becomes an unmasked Pulcinella who brings to the stage all the contradictions that make Naples different from the rest of the world; and Sal Da Vinci in “Sinfonie in Sal Maggiore” (from 23 to 25 January), where the traveling companions of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter become a 50-piece orchestra directed by maestro Adriano Pennino, the desire to sing his songs and the classic songs of Neapolitan song and a ramshackle and comical crew that will also make the crossing very entertaining. From 27 February to 1 March, the public will be able to appreciate Francesco Cicchella in “Millevoci tonight show”, a one-man comedy-musical show directed by Gigi Proietti, in which Cicchella puts his skills as a comedian, singer and entertainer into play. The title winks at the historic Rai1 variety show “Milleluci” and the contemporary American “Tonight Show”, summarizing one of the main criteria of the show: blending the traditional elements of variety with a fresher, more modern and innovative concept of the one-man show.
In March, Gino Rivieccio arrives, ready to entertain the audience with “Cavalli di ritorno 2.0” (from March 13 to 15) and his life targeted online by a fan who takes possession of his data and profile to mock and blackmail him in front of everyone; and I Ditelo Voi with “Il Mistero della violaciocca” (from March 27 to 29), a hilarious black comedy in which there will be no shortage of lies, jealousies and twists, with the extravagant residents of a high-class Naples building who will find themselves, against their will, having to face a secret together. Outside the season ticket, an extraordinary Fabio Concato arrives on the stage of the Teatro Lendi in concert. It will be the occasion to listen not only to the great “successes”, but also many other songs from his rich repertoire of over 40 years of career. “Domenica bestiale”, “Fiore di Maggio”, “Guido piano”, “Rosalina”, “051222525”, “Sexi tango”, “Gigi”, up to the singles from the latest album released in 2012 “Tutto qua”. These are some of the songs from the concert, re-proposed with new arrangements and chosen according to the artist’s favourite themes. The repertoire is re-proposed with great energy and complicity, together with the same musicians who contributed to the creation of the album: Ornella D’Urbano (arrangements, piano and keyboards), Stefano Casali (bass), Larry Tomassini (guitars) and Gabriele Palazzi (drums). After this “unscheduled event”, the season closes with three extraordinary women on stage: Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Michela Andreozzi and Vittoria Belvedere in “Figlie di Eva” (from 10 to 13 April).
