Fire in a leather warehouse in Irpinia, Arpac investigations to ascertain the presence of asbestos in the collapsed parts of the building
Investigations underway by theArpac for the fire that broke out yesterday afternoon in Montoro, in the province of Avellino, destroying a leather warehouse. The Agency's monitoring concerns in particular the possible presence of asbestos in the collapsed parts of the building.
From an initial assessment by the technicians, the dispersion of pollutants during the brief acute phase of the fire should have been contained.
The fire, of vast proportions, occurred yesterday afternoon along the provincial road between the hamlets of Banzano and Torchiati. Investigations are underway to trace the causes that caused it.
