Seals removed from the Ospedale del Mare: work begins on hot water
The NAPLES Prosecutor's Office has removed the seals from the sinkhole that was created last week at the Ospedale del Mare to allow the ASL NAPOLI 1 to restore the flow of hot water and heating to the departments. The seals were removed this morning after the ASL presented all the documentation requested by the prosecutors to continue the investigation. The ASL has therefore started the work schedule that foresees a conclusion in a maximum of seven days.
The technical office, we learn from ASL sources, with the team of the company that deals with maintenance, is starting the work that is taking place about 50 meters from the sinkhole, an area also seized by the magistrates. The work includes the installation of new boiler plants that will allow the sinkhole to be bypassed: with the current boilers, in fact, the hot water would flow into the ditch without reaching the hospital. The work will be carried out in the underground tunnels of the parking lot up to the hospital. Currently, the Ospedale del Mare continues to work in difficult conditions, heating the water with ovens and trying to air condition the wards with fan heaters, a situation that will be resolved only at the end of the work.
