Naples, the Municipality launches projects for seven new nursery schools
The municipal council of Naples has approved the executive projects of seven nursery schools to be built in as many school buildings, and financed with resources from the Pact for the Development of the city of Naples (FSC 2014-2020) for a total of 3 million euros through space redevelopment works.
In particular, the following will be built: a new nursery school at the Maria Cristina di Savoia municipal school in Capodimonte; a new nursery school in the Arenella district at the de Curtis complex of the 84th EAMario district; two new nurseries in the sixth Municipality in municipal premises located in via Botteghelle and in via delle Repubbliche Marinare, in the 'Ex-chance' building, which has been abandoned for some time, where a 0-6 centre will be built, linked to the Russo-Solimena Institute in Barra; a new nursery school in via Ronchi dei Legionari at the 25th municipal district (tenth Municipality). The premises of the Torricelli nursery school (ninth Municipality) will also be redeveloped and brought up to standard with energy efficiency, as well as those of the Guacci-Nobile complex in via Ciccone of the second Municipality, thus expanding the offerings of these territories.
“Requalifying spaces and converting them into nurseries is a direction that is programmatically indicated at a national and European level to overcome the gap in territories that, like the South, are historically lacking in early childhood services. The administration pursues this objective programmatically: in the face of the decline in the population, we are giving new life to school spaces. Today we are approving seven new projects for around 200 places while we are completing three others (at Sanità, at Camaldoli, at Scampia) undertaken last year. When all are up and running, the public offer of the Municipality will be significantly strengthened compared to when we started. To the advantage of the youngest and families”. This is what the Councilor for Schools of the Municipality of Naples, Annamaria Palmieri, said.
