Doctor attacked during the night in Melito by the father of a little boy suffering from chickenpox who demanded the visit.
It happened in district 40, ASL Napoli 2 Nord where around 20,50 pm a doctor on night duty of Continuity of Care was attacked, fortunately only verbally, in threatening and intimidating ways by a user who, having arrived outside the facility, rang the intercom, without prior notice of a phone call, demanding a visit to a child with chickenpox.

The doctor tried to explain to him that the child with chickenpox cannot leave the house and that a telephone consultation with the Continuity of Care service would be sufficient. In response, the man began to threaten the doctor on duty, asking him to open the front door.
The professional called the Command of Carabinieri of Melito. The Carabinieri arrived and reported the incident.
“I express my regret and my indignation - explains the doctor involved - for all the doctors of Continuity of Care, who have been subjected for years to threats from dangerous people because the facilities are unsafe environments and at the mercy of any ill-intentioned person, who is free to offend, threaten and beat a doctor who is simply doing his job protecting the health of citizens, without the slightest certainty of punishment”.
