Napoli Basket's project for the next Serie A championship is starting to take shape. The Neapolitan city is returning to the top division after 13 years and will do so thanks to the solid project put in place by the company, which has decided to confirm 6 architects of the promotion. Let's find out who they are!
GEVI Napoli confirms 6 players
The Napoli Basket project was founded on solid foundations, and now we have had confirmation of this. The Neapolitan club, which will also be branded GEVI (Generazione Vincente) next season, has confirmed 6 players who last season were protagonists of the winning ride that brought Neapolitan basketball back to Serie A after 13 years.
Playmaker Josh Mayo, Jordan Parks, Lorenzo Uglietti, Pierpaolo Marini, Eric Lombardi and Andrea Zerini will still wear the GEVI jersey. Being able to start again with 6 players so important to the club is like having won 6 at the Superenalotto (by the way, you can find here are the latest draws in case you forgot to check your betting slip).
The divorce from Diego Monaldi, another of the protagonists of the splendid season of the team coached by Pino Sacripanti, had already been announced last week. Also in recent days, the official announcement of the first new purchase, Frank Elegar, who last year wore the Reggiana jersey, had arrived.
The confirmed protagonists
The most important confirmation is probably that of Josh Mayo, the GEVI playmaker who last year was also awarded the title of MVP of the Coppa Italia won by the Neapolitan team. The American has already played on the parquet of the Serie A with the jerseys of Montegranaro, Roma and Varese and will undoubtedly be one of the cornerstones of GEVI also in the next season.
The experience and great work ethic of Andrea Zerini will be fundamental in the first season in the series of Napoli Basket. The Florentine wing-center, who arrived during the season, has proven to be a fundamental pawn in the winning ride of Sacripanti's team and thanks to the numerous championships played in series A with Brindisi, Avellino and Brescia she will be able to continue to be imported with her great wealth of experience.
The bomber Jordan Parks, best scorer in the Playoff Final won against Udine, will also wear the jersey of the Neapolitan team. The American winger is certainly a player who can have his say in the top division and this is why Sacripanti has decided to focus on him again.
Thanks to an excellent season, Eric Lombardi has also earned confirmation. The small forward who grew up in the ranks of Pallacanestro Biella has confirmed not only his offensive potential, but also that he is an excellent specialist in defense, and this is why the coach wanted him for the next Serie A championship.
Two others will also be part of the team Italian players, Lorenzo Uglietti and Pierpaolo Marini, who will have to be ready every time the coach asks for their contribution.
