La Civil protection of the region Campania has issued a criticality warning for weather risk from a “heat wave”.

Starting from 8 am tomorrow morning, Tuesday 27 July and until 20 pm on Thursday 29 July, in the municipalities of the regional territory classified as moderate and high risk (as per the list attached to DGR 870 of 8 July 2005 published in the Burc n. 37 of 1 August 2005) temperatures are expected to be 7-8 degrees above the seasonal average values and a humidity level that, especially in the evening and night hours on the coastal sector and in the flat areas, could even exceed 60-70%, in conditions of poor ventilation.

The Regional Operations Room, in consideration of the notice issued by the Functional Centre of the civil protection, invites the mayors of all municipalities and the competent bodies to implement their own procedures relating to the surveillance of vulnerable groups of the population. It is recommended not to expose oneself to the sun or practice sports activities during the hottest hours. Particular attention must be paid by heart patients, the elderly, children and subjects at risk.
