Meanwhile, starting tomorrow, the General Medicine department of theRizzoli Hospital will be converted to accommodate Covid patients. The director of the ASL Napoli 2, Antonio D'Amore he explained the covid outbreak on the former covid-free island like this:
“A hard core of residents, we can also call them no vax, have become infected and now all the work that had been developed in concert with the president of the Campania region Vincenzo De Luca is at risk”.
Three hundred positives in recent days on an island that now has 270 thousand people. Seven are hospitalized and two are deaths in twenty-four hours.
“Our concern is mixed with anger – adds the DG – there are 170 positive residents and all are unvaccinated. Among them, many young people. Then we have 60 tourists and the rest are those who have only one dose”.
Appeals are not enough, action is needed. “We are tired because today a common sense of responsibility should prevail that is not there – continues D'Amore – and there are those who continue not to get vaccinated”.
