AviglianoA 31-year-old resident of the province of Salerno has been charged with arson by negligence after allegedly causing a fire in Avigliano on August 16 by setting off birthday fireworks.
The investigations conducted by the Carabinieri have allowed them to trace the causes of the flames that burned an uncultivated field in the Potenza municipality and that required the intervention of the firefighters. According to the reconstruction of the facts, the sparks from the fireworks exploded during the celebration caused them.
The deep knowledge of the places and the proximity to the citizens allowed the Carabinieri, after 10 days, to reconstruct the whole story, identifying the careless use of legal pyrotechnic devices as the cause of an event that, even if involuntary, could have led to much more serious consequences.
