Polive – “Camerota has found itself with this enormous heritage that it absolutely must put online, not thinking exclusively of itself, but thinking of a project called Cilento”.
So to speak Mario Salvatore Scarpitta, mayor of Camerota , on the inauguration day, with a visit to the Paleolithic caves of Marina di Camerota, of the Food and Climate Shapers Boot Camp of the Future Food Institute.
In this territory "they are found – explains – the architraves of the Mediterranean Diet. Here 60 thousand years ago they already talked about vegetables, understood as seeds, meat, fish. All this will make the heritage of Cilento exclusive, giving our sea even more strength”.
Yesterday evening also saw the signing of a protocol between the Municipalities of pollica and Camerota and the Future Food Institute “to start building – highlights the mayor of Pollica, Stefano Pisani – a much broader network on the valorization of the territory and the Mediterranean Diet that should be the common thread that unites the potential of Cilento to transform it from an abandoned land into a laboratory of new experiences and great opportunities for young people who must return and not leave”.

Bonassisa: “we are looking for 'killers' nested in foods on our table”
“We joined together for the first time this year and when I met Sara Roversi (president of the Future Food Institute, ed.) we immediately became passionate about this project. We deal with food safety, we are looking for the “killers” that hide in the food we eat. Within this boot camp, from this point of view, we are able to make a great contribution”. He explains it to Dire Lucia Bonassisa, CEO of BLab, main partner of the boot camp of Future Food Institute.
Environment: Save it with a water bottle? It is possible
From the FFI boot camp in Pollica, an appeal from the young climate shaper
"We are already late and if we wait any longer we will be much late. Many things, therefore, must be done now". This is the appeal of Potito Ruggiero, a 13-year-old climate shaper from Puglia, who, speaking to Dire, calls on young people and adults to take responsibility from the Food and Climate Shapers Boot Camp of the Future Food Institute currently underway in Cilento.
Potito talks about “daily, simple actions that everyone can do” to help the environment like “using the water bottle” which the 13 year old says “very happy because they told me you couldn’t save the world with a water bottle.” With this gesture of avoiding plastic bottles for Potito we can give “a real example”.
Because my future is now
17 year old hotel student in Pollica for Paideia campus
“My journey began in July when Sara (Roversi, president of the Future Food Institute, ed.) allowed us to come to Cilento to take part in the 'Mediterranean Trame' project to discover, learn and spread everything about the Mediterranean Diet. Thanks to this and the Paideia campus we were able to meet producers of mozzarella, oil, honey, to experience the Mediterranean Diet first-hand”. Monia Pi cola, a 17-year-old who is participating in the boot camp of the Future Food Institute in Pollica this week, tells Dire.
Monia, who attends the hotel management school, wants to be a dietician and chose to participate in the project because it seemed to her “the right way to start my journey as soon as possible”.
