In Pomigliano d'Arco, the Carabinieri of the radiomobile section of the Castello di Cisterna company arrested a 44-year-old of Romanian origins, already known to the police, for theft, receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official.
The Carabinieri – engaged in a night patrol – were driving along Via Leopardi when they noticed two men on the ground busy removing the muffler from a parked car.
The criminals see the Carabinieri and get into their car. They ram the Gazelle and flee. A chase begins that lasts a few kilometers. The car suddenly stops and the two split up. The 2-year-old is caught and stopped.
In the car used to escape, numerous burglary tools were found and seized, as well as three catalytic converters recently stolen from as many cars, which are currently being investigated for identification. The hunt for the accomplice is on.
The arrested man is awaiting trial.
