As part of the checks that are carried out daily throughout the province on product safety, the Finance Police of the Provincial Command of Salerno, in two separate interventions, seized almost 40 thousand unsafe items, including over 27 thousand personal protective equipment.
In particular, the soldiers of the Cava de' Tirreni Company entered a commercial establishment in the Metelliana town, where they found, in addition to telephone and computer accessories, numerous packages of masks - of the FFP2 type and "Covid-19" antigen swabs, for an estimated commercial value of around eighty thousand euros, put up for sale in violation of the Consumer Code because they lacked the minimum information content and instructions in Italian.
The Yellow Flames of the Nocera Inferiore Company, however, in Mercato San Severino, identified a shop managed by an Asian citizen who, in the course of carrying out the retail trade of various types of products, was selling costume jewelry, electrical items and carnival items, which lacked the minimum safety requirements.
The goods in question, approximately 11 thousand pieces, most of which were intended primarily for a large audience of underage customers, were found to be lacking instructions for use and/or technical characteristics in such a way as to not provide the consumer with any information regarding the traceability of the composition, production and packaging of the same.
At the end of the activities, the owners were reported to the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno for the imposition of administrative sanctions that can reach up to 25.000 euros.
