Benevento. A fifty year old of Benevento he was arrested by the Carabinieri in execution of a custodial order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Benevento at the request of the local prosecutor's office, because he was seriously suspected of the crimes, in competition, of robbery, receiving stolen goods, illegal possession of a clandestine weapon in a public place.
The restrictive measure originates from an operation by the Montesarchio military in which serious evidence was acquired against the suspect together with other individuals (already arrested in the past by the L'Aquila Carabinieri) for numerous episodes of armed robberies, committed between 2010 and 2014.
“From the investigations – reads a note from the Attorney General of Benevento Aldo Policastro – serious evidence of guilt emerged against the suspect, in relation to robberies committed using various cars, later found to be the object of the theft and the use of weapons, such as a pistol and a Kalashnikov model rifle, to the detriment of the post offices in the hamlet of Terranova di Arpaise (Benevento), Bellizzi Irpino (Avellino), Civitanova del Sannio (Isernia), Guardiagrele (Chieti), Castelvecchio Calvisio (L'Aquila), Civita D'Antino Alto (L'Aquila) as well as the robbery to the detriment of the van carrying the cash of a security institute which took place in San Giorgio del Sannio (Benevento), with the theft of the two weapons supplied to the security guards, one of which was then used by other individuals during a robbery which took place in Maddaloni in 2013 during which the carabiniere Tiziano Della Valle was killed by the robbers. “Ratta”.
The total amount stolen is over three hundred thousand euros.
