On Monday 23 May the collaboration of the PITER project with the Association “Un Popolo in Cammino per Genny Vive” was launched, aimed at carrying out sports activities dedicated to the children of the Rione Sanità of Naples.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 17pm to 19pm, on the pitch located in via Salita Scudillo n. 1, minors divided into two different shifts (men's football and women's football) will be able to learn more about the rules and secrets of the game of football, thanks to a football school that aims to spread the culture of legality in sports, educating young people to be active citizens and to respect the rules, fighting all forms of violence and discrimination and enhancing the importance of sport as a tool for inclusion and social cohesion.
This is also possible thanks to a qualified staff of competent instructors who, supported by the educators of the PITER project, will not only teach the kids to make a good cross or a free kick, but also to respect the opponents and to feel an integral part of a group. Furthermore, they will dedicate themselves to the personal growth of the kids, having at heart the development of the child's personality, completing the path started in the family and continued at school.
The family, the class, the football team, are miniature societies where the young person learns to give his best, to be loyal and generous with others, to make himself available to family, classmates and teammates; and only in these contexts will he be able to best develop his potential.
Sports, and specifically football, allow children to immerse themselves in a context such as that of a group, where they encounter rules and relate to their peers, acting as important vehicles for social inclusion and combating issues related to youth hardship. In this regard, the Legality Tournament will start on 21 June 2022, in which the children of the PITER project will also participate
It will be a precious opportunity to put into practice the values learned during the football school. The Project of the "Territorial Inclusion and Empowerment Paths in the Sanità District" of Naples, was born from a co-design action implemented by the Municipality III^ of the City of Naples and the Ministry of the Interior.
Strongly desired and encouraged by the territory and the Prefecture of Naples, the prototype project managed by the Cooperativa San Francesco scs and the Consorzio Luna scs, aims to start an effective and replicable intervention method for the purpose of preventing and/or repairing the exit from the school and training system, encouraging civic paths of legality in the territory.
The project also aims to ensure social inclusion by supporting families in the popular Sanità district through a stable and cohesive network of stakeholders active in the area (institutions, schools, parishes, educational and sports centers, third sector organizations and other private entities in the Sanità district).
