In San Giorgio a Cremano the first festival dedicated to storytelling for children and young people in Villa Falanga, on 14 and 15 May 2022

“Ricomincio dalle Storie” will take place on May 14th and 15th in Villa Falanga (10am-21pm), the first festival dedicated to storytelling in all its forms, especially those dedicated to children.

Throughout the weekend, the villa, which is also home to the Laboratorio Città dei Bambini, will be populated by authors, presentations, performances and events dedicated to families, children, teachers and students.

On Saturday, May 14, at 12.30:XNUMX, Geronimo Stilton will also arrive, the famous comic book character who will speak to the little ones and tell the stories that have him as the protagonist. The theme of the first edition is "welcoming".

“Ricomincio dalle Storie” was born from the collaboration between the Naples Book Fair “Ricomincio dai Libri”, through the association La Bottega delle Parole and the Regional Laboratory City of Children and Girls of San Giorgio a Cremano.

The creative direction of the literary festival is entrusted to Viviana Hutter, Pedagogist, author, creative and storyteller of children's stories. Inventor of the "Active" method which later merged into the Scuola Gentile project which is based on the idea that everything can be learned through creativity, emotions and relationships.

Hutter's latest volume is called "Writing that Heals"; a manual of self-therapy through writing, in which to tell and talk about oneself, open the drawers of memories, free oneself from what makes us feel bad.

All the events of the festival sponsored by the City of San Giorgio a Cremano, will therefore focus on written, read, told, drawn, recited, dreamed, blown, walked, built, sung, played narration and will tend to highlight the importance of emotions.

"San Giorgio a Cremano always welcomes events like this, which combine our love of culture with the dedication our city has to children," explains Mayor Giorgio Zinno, who will be present at the festival's opening.

This first edition is tied to the Day of Play that our city has been dedicating to children for years, which has just ended and returned to in-person events after two years. With Ricomincio dalle Storie , she continues, we can offer our children magical atmospheres and creative inspiration to rediscover the time taken away from contemplation and wonder, and instead dedicated to routine and routine. The festival's theme also reflects one of the values we have always tried to instill in the new generations: 'welcoming' to create an increasingly just and inclusive community.

Councilor for Schools Giuseppe Giordano agrees: "We must contribute consistently and comprehensively to the education and development of our children and young people. Cultural and educational events are therefore welcome, as long as they foster the sharing that has been missing for too long. Now we must look forward to helping our young people plan their futures."

“Since the very beginning of Ricomincio dai libri, we have always worked to ensure that children's literature receives ample space and attention, firmly believing that good habits should be cultivated from an early age,” says Miryam Gison, bookseller and founding member of the Naples Book Fair.

An event with deep roots, as Viviana Hutter testifies: “ I would like to offer all children the same joy, the same emotions that I felt, because listening to a story is a continuous enrichment, a relationship that builds with others, it is travelling to wonderful worlds, it is creating memories, it is tying us to others with an invisible thread”.
