Amalfi. A large-scale landslide occurred shortly before 13:XNUMX p.m. in Amalfi, below the state road, near the breakwater of the port. Some old terraces, built with dry stone walls overhanging the rock, collapsed from a height of about forty meters.
The firefighters who are intervening on site confirmed to AGI that there were no people involved. The landslide material that ended up in the sea created a large brown patch in the body of water in front of the collapse area.
Many people came. The thoughts of the Amalfitans inevitably went to the landslide of February 2, 2021 about 200 meters as the crow flies from this one, right in the town center, which also affected one of the entrance arteries to the coastal center.
