Marano, citizens for a month and a half struggling with continuous interruptions in the water supply and with speculators who sell it at 20 euros per liter. Borrelli: "Absurd situation and great discomfort, we have again urged the prefectural commission to intervene immediately"
“In Marano, for a month and a half, we have been without water. No one is interested in this problem. The water main has broken down in several places, yet no one does anything. A situation of hardship that has been going on for years, but which today has reached its peak. We are in difficulty, we are forced to fill the tanks at our own expense to keep going.
But those who don't have them are completely left to their own devices. And with the prefectural commission it is really difficult to be received and have a dialogue, we don't know how to do it". This is the appeal of Tommaso Ippolito, citizen and trader of Marano, exasperated by the situation, who turned to the regional councilor of Europa Verde, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, to urge decisive interventions.
"What has been reported to us leaves us speechless. It is absurd that a city is left to itself, without a drop of water, with a temperature of over 30 degrees. For a month and a half, citizens have been dealing with continuous suspensions of the water service. What is happening is shameful, we have, for the umpteenth time, sent a note to the prefectural commission to understand the reason for these continuous stops and to request a rapid and definitive resolution.
Several times, in these weeks, we have reported to them the water problem and the critical issues in communication with citizens, but nothing has been done. By doing this they are not working as they should. And the citizens, to fill the tanks, also have to deal with speculators who sell water at 20 euros per liter, taking advantage of an emergency situation to earn more. An unworthy thing that we have reported to the police. We will keep the situation monitored, water is a right of all that must be guaranteed at all costs”.
