Carabinieri Forestali and ASOIM – Presentation of the decalogue of “behaviors to avoid inside Protected Natural Areas”.
The presentation of the Decalogue of behaviors to avoid within Protected Natural Areas took place this morning, within the splendid setting of the “saloncino dei busti” inside the Monumental Complex of Castel Capuano, guests of the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura.
The Decalogue was born from the strong synergy existing between the Campania Forestry Carabinieri Regional Command and the ASOIM (Association of Southern Italy Ornithological Studies) and from the need to make it clear to users of the Protected Areas, in a simple way, what behaviors should be avoided in order to best preserve the naturalistic heritage.
The Campania Region, in fact, is characterized by the strong presence of protected areas, very different from each other, there are in fact 2 National Parks, 12 Regional Parks and Nature Reserves, 5 State Nature Reserves, 5 Marine Protected Areas, 1 Submerged Marine Archaeological Park, 1 Metropolitan Park, 2 Unesco MAB Reserves, 1 Unesco Geopark, 2 Ramsar Areas of International Interest for the Migration of Birds, the protected surface is equal to approximately 370.000 hectares equal to 27% of the regional surface (excluding the areas of the 123 Sites of the Natura 2000 Network).
Not a list of articles of law and sanctions, but 10 simple rules accompanied by illustrations and a brief explanation of the reason for the ban, to make even the younger generations understand how behavior, sometimes unconscious, can cause damage to wildlife and natural ecosystems. The decalogue is a starting point that can be enriched year after year with the contribution of Entities and Associations to increasingly promote awareness of the damage to naturalistic heritage.
The presentation report was held by Gen B. Ciro Lungo, commander of the Campania Forestry Carabinieri Region and by Professor Fraissinet, president of ASOIM
The event was attended by Gen. D. Rispoli, Interregional Commander, Gen. B. Jannece Commander of the Campania Legion, the President of the Court of Naples Dr. Elisabetta Garzo, the Attorney General Filippelli and the Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality Dr. Mancuso as well as numerous environmental associations, precisely because the protection of the environment is now a priority for everyone and everyone, within their respective competences, pursues.
The Decalogue, which will be distributed in all Protected Areas, reflects the awareness-raising action on environmental legality and the protection of naturalistic heritage that the Carabinieri of the Forestry specialty carry out on a daily basis.
