Napoli. “The events of the last few days, with the umpteenth closure of the emergency room and the resurgence of Covid infections, have once again highlighted the poor organization and planning in the management of the emergency room and Obi of the Cardarelli where none of the problems highlighted several times have been addressed and none of the proposals presented several times have been accepted”.
This was stated in a note by the CGIL Public Function company secretariat, once again raising the alarm about the crowding in the emergency room of the largest hospital in NAPLES. “With measures whose rationale escapes – it reads – Covid departments have been reopened and Covid places have been restored in the OBI premises with the same dynamics as in the first hour of the pandemic.
Medical staff and emergency room workers are experiencing additional stress with abnormal workloads at a time when, after months of hard work, they should have organized and scheduled their due holiday rest in advance. Even more so, patients are in conditions of inadequate care and promiscuity in relation to the possible Covid infection.
The union organization, in stigmatizing the approximation and poor organization put in place by a chain of command that shows all its limits and its inefficiency, reiterates its firm will to keep alive the attention on a problem that risks causing the collapse of the entire hospital.
It requests that the rotation of medical personnel and healthcare workers be, ad horas, organized taking into account the holidays to be assigned to exhausted personnel and the minimum organic endowment that allows adequate assistance to patients and dignified work to operators by restoring a minimum of governance and organization. To affirm its requests in person, the Cgil has organized a picket in front of the emergency room of Cardarelli tomorrow, from 9 to 12 to express closeness to workers and patients.
