Barra is not a neighborhood for seniors. Scandalous in Barra: seniors forced to bring their own chairs from home to sit in the garden.
A garden for the elderly located in via Fabio Giordano in a perfect place, right in the center with a nearby bar, newsstand, shops, a garden specifically designed for the elderly with even a bowling green...or perhaps a potato field we should say. A garden abandoned to itself with tall grass, dangerous potholes, the bowling green invaded by plants, the broken benches and many, many uncollected leaves.
In one place there is even a manhole missing, a fountain has been destroyed, the other one constantly leaks water, the trees are not pruned, the plants are not cared for. Maybe in the beginning there were also some roses but now everything is dried up. A place that would be perfect for the elderly especially in this period for the many elderly who remain in Barra (that is, all of them), a place where you can find a bit of shade and the refreshment of a drinking water fountain and yet a place, yet another one that cannot be used given the state of abandonment in which it is found.
Even in the state it is in, it is a dangerous place where an elderly person could even get hurt and fall. An intervention by the Institutions is urgently needed to restore the full functionality of a truly important and indispensable place. The elderly cannot be left without a meeting place that is safe for them.
The garden must be made safe by giving it decorum and civility again. A job that would also be easy to do: it would be enough for the Municipality, Township or Asia to immediately send a team of gardeners to clean the area and then the Municipality and/or the Township to restore the benches. It would take very little, very little to give the elderly people of the neighborhood a corner of tranquility and refreshment. We await rapid intervention by the Municipality or the Township.
