Class Action begins on the hydrofoil accident in the port of Naples. “A tragedy narrowly avoided”, comments the national secretary of Codici.
The accident that occurred in the port of Naples, involving a hydrofoil headed to Ischia, on August 2, involved over 100 people including passengers and crew, causing 28 injuries, including a baby girl of a few months.
“A tragedy was narrowly avoided – declares Ivano Giacomelli, National Secretary of Codici – we want light to be shed on the accident, to understand the reasons for the impact and ascertain the causes that determined it and any responsibilities. The hydrofoil was carrying over 100 passengers at the time of the impact, at the moment there would appear to be only minor injuries, but the consequences could have been much worse”.
“We have taken action – explains Giuseppe Ambrosio Regional Secretary of Codici Campania – to provide assistance to the passengers of the hydrofoil. In light of what happened, the inconvenience suffered by the passengers and the damages, including physical, suffered, we believe that the company should recognize compensation for the damage. This is our request, which we will formally formulate. We have decided to start a Class Action to protect the passengers involved, so that they obtain adequate compensation for the damage and inconvenience suffered”.
Codici is collecting reports from passengers injured in the hydrofoil accident in the port of Naples in order to request compensation.
