Bribes for a parking lot in Giugliano: Mallardo clan racket collector arrested.
As part of an investigation by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples, the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Giugliano in Campania Company have executed a Prison Detention Order issued by the Court of Naples against Palma Armando, a 61-year-old from Giugliano in Campania, believed to be affiliated with the “Mallardo” clan, an association operating in the city of Giugliano in Campania and part of the confederation of organizations called “Alleanza di Secondigliano”, a cartel that brings together criminal groups based in a large portion of the metropolitan area of Naples.
The investigations, which arose from the statements of some collaborators of justice, promptly corroborated by further investigative activity, have allowed us to collect serious circumstantial evidence regarding an extortion, aggravated by mafia purposes and methods, committed in the summer of 2013, when the suspect, together with another individual, had demanded the sum of 1000 euros from a private individual who was carrying out construction work in an area intended for parking.
