In Trecase, sixteen thefts in electrical cabins: arrested. Thefts from January to May using shears.

He allegedly broke into several electrical distribution cabins for the sole purpose of stealing cables and storage batteries.

For this reason, the Carabinieri of the Trecase station, in execution of an order applying the precautionary measure of house arrest, issued by the investigating judge of the Torre Annunziata court at the request of the Oplontina Prosecutor's Office, proceeded to arrest a person (whose personal details were not provided), accused of aggravated continuous theft.

It all started with a complaint filed by representatives of two companies involved in the electricity distribution sector, recipients of numerous thefts. According to the findings of the work carried out by the investigators, the man, after having opened the container compartment of the cabins using special shears, allegedly took away the copper cables used for electrical conduction.

The investigations, which began last January and continued for about four months, thanks also to the support of the Carabinieri of the Torre Annunziata and Torre del Greco stations, have allowed us to document several thefts committed with identical methods in several municipalities (including Torre del Greco, Torre Annunziata and Trecase), so much so that the suspect is charged with sixteen thefts committed between January and May.

To make matters worse, the man's situation was aggravated by the fact that, during house searches at the suspect's home, a significant portion of the stolen goods from the cabins were found and seized, as well as numerous tools most likely used to commit the thefts.

The suspect, who is charged with the crimes of theft aggravated by violence against property and by the circumstance of having been committed against public infrastructures set up for the supply of energy, after the formal procedures was placed under house arrest at his home.
