The bandits who about two years ago carried out a sensational theft of over 300 thousand euros in a company in Massa Lubrense have been arrested thanks to the images from the video surveillance cameras that filmed them.

The Carabinieri of the Sorrento Company, in fact, in execution of a precautionary order, issued by the Judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Torre Annunziata, at the request of the local Prosecutor's Office, proceeded to arrest 4 people, three of whom are recipients of precautionary custody in prison and one recipient of the precautionary measure of house arrest, while a fifth is still actively sought.
They are all seriously suspected of aggravated theft in competition. On the night between January 31 and February 1, 2021 in Massa Lubrense, at the commercial headquarters of a local company, a theft of watches, coins and banknotes with an estimated value of approximately 335 thousand euros was committed.
From the first inspection of the crime scene, investigators discovered that the perpetrators had entered the company headquarters, crossing a neighboring citrus grove and, using ladders, had entered the second floor of the building, accessing it through a bathroom window, not covered by an alarm system.

Once inside, the criminals, in order to bypass the video surveillance system and the alarm placed on the door of the company owner's office, had made a hole in the wall dividing the bathroom from the main office, on a wall where a cabinet safe was positioned.
Then, with carpentry tools and the use of a flex, they managed to open a hole in the wall behind the safe, stealing its contents, including a second and smaller metal safe that was anchored to the main safe. The investigations allowed them to reconstruct all the phases of the theft.
The analysis of private video surveillance cameras, the study of telephone records, the tracking of vehicle traffic recorded by license plate reading systems have made it possible to document the movements made and the cars used by the perpetrators of the crime.

The investigative reconstruction, carried out by the Carabinieri of the Sorrento Company and shared by the Judge for preliminary investigations, has allowed us to gather a serious set of circumstantial evidence against the suspects in relation to the serious theft for which we are proceeding. Following the formal procedures, three of those arrested were taken to the Naples Poggioreale District Prison, while the fourth was placed under house arrest with the application of an electronic bracelet.
