The Theatre seeks Home knocks on the door: the new season of the apartment festival conceived by Manlio Santanelli is presented
15 new shows, 5 events, 4 returns: the new season of Il Teatro Cerca Casa, the series of itinerant shows in private apartments in Campania, conceived by playwright Manlio Santanelli and organized by Livia Coletta, was presented in Naples. The meeting, attended by the hosts, actors, authors and directors of the new season, was moderated by the journalist Giuseppe Giorgio. Among the new features, “The small theatre is looking for a home”, which features the actors who have made the history of the festival and who stage more shows every year: Federica Aiello, Maurizio Capone, Massimo Masiello, Murano, Antonella Morea, Caterina Pontrandolfo.
Il focus on social issues this year is focused on two themes in particular: Women's life in prison and homophobia, addressed respectively in the shows La lupa nella gabbia with Federica Paolo and Gatos do Mar and Vito, la sartorina by Antonio Mocciola with Diego Sommaripa. “The social aspect – explains Livia Coletta – has always been taken care of, together with the objective of our festival: to give work to temporarily free professionals and, at the same time, to rekindle the love for the theater and therefore for culture in those who have distanced themselves from it.”

The festival opens as usual in the living room of the Santanelli house in Vomero: on October 31st at 18 pm Stefano Jotti will perform the show Dentro fuori altro. On November 23rd in Posillipo at the headquarters of the Giglio Foundation it will be the turn of Federica Aiello and Roberto Giordano with the charity show L'arte del sorriso. La macchietta. It will continue in various apartments in the historic center, in Pozzuoli, in Chiaia and also in Caserta. Dates and shows will be revealed in November on the website and on the Social pages.
This year the theater leaves home again and brings its shows to suggestive places immersed in nature, which have embraced the spirit of the festival: Masseria Campito in Gricignano d'Aversa, Eremo di Ruviano, La Casa d'Angiù delle sorelle Dell'orto, il Giardino di Sessa di Martino. To these are added the Associazione Ominartecaserta and the Fondazione Giglio.
There will also be a tribute by Il Teatro cerca Casa to Gennaro Cannavacciuolo, who passed away last May. On November 4, in the Sala Ferrari in Naples, Santanelli's show Le verità di Cesira will be screened, which the actor was about to stage for the first time in Milan.
Special prizes were awarded again this year: best show Junk Solo by and with Maurizio Capone and golden ticket to the show that toured the most: The art of smiling. The spot. During the presentation, Roberto Giordano read a portrait of the city entitled Gattanapoli written by Santanelli and illustrated by Carmine Luino.
