Fear a Greek's tower where a school bus and a car were trapped in rainwater accumulated in the area of an underpass near the seafront.
The two vehicles were submerged for almost half, but in both cases the water did not reach the windows, allowing the occupants to leave the cabins. In the case of the school bus, from what we understand, there were only the driver and an employee of the company responsible for carrying out the service on behalf of the Municipality.
Precisely on the dangerous situations that have arisen in the Vesuvian city due to the Maltempo, the mayor intervened Giovanni Palomba: "We have recorded the impact on the city and the entire region - both along the coast and in the more inland areas - of a real water bomb, not announced by the regional weather bulletin which, on the contrary, reported a yellow alert for today.
What happened in the last few hours, therefore, was not foreseeable, nor was it possible – on the basis of the regional parameter indicated to us – to order closures or suspensions of public services”.
”Similarly – adds the mayor – for tomorrow, as reported by the competent regional bodies of Campania, it is a yellow weather alert. At the moment, no damage to people in our territory seems to have been detected.
We are intervening on all the critical issues reported, trying to restore correct and orderly vehicular circulation, making all the areas at risk safe. I recommend and invite all citizens to exercise maximum caution”.
