The coordinator Giovanni Nappi: “A project that gave us the opportunity to meet extraordinary people!”
In Casalnuovo di Napoli, about a year ago, the project: “A City That Paints”, co-financed by the Campania Region with funds from the Ministry of Labor for the Third Sector, gave the opportunity to many friends with autism spectrum disorder to attend a painting workshop.
At the end of the workshop, the participants' works were included in an exhibition, as the main works on display and, subsequently, became essential pages of a book entitled: "A city that paints. When communication difficulties can create art".
Now it's time for another innovation launched by the association "Una Città Che...": bringing the color BLUE and autism to a float at the Carnival in Casalnuovo: the carnival initiative that will take place in February of this year.
“We will ask the autistic friends we met during the activities carried out to get involved in this new adventure: painting some elements of a float that will parade during our carnival in blue.
Benches and papier-mâché balloons painted blue will parade along with the other carnival figures. A way, we believe, to conclude the project in the right way! A project that has given us the opportunity to meet extraordinary people”, declares Giovanni Nappi, coordinator of the project Una Città Che Dipinge.
Saturday 28 January 2023 will be the first day of the workshop: participants will have to paint benches and balloons blue.
