On Saturday 27 May at 21pm and Sunday 28 May at 19pm, the Nostos Teatro will stage “Aemorragia”, freely adapted from Pier Paolo Pasolini’s “Calderon”.
Two different casts, led by the direction of Dimitri Tetta, founder and artistic director of Nostos Teatro with Giovanni Granatina and Gina Oliva, take turns on stage to tell this story.
“'Love will tear us apart' (love will tear us apart) sang Ian Curtis in April 1980, before committing suicide the following May. “Aemorragia” is a play on words containing Amor- but also Emo- as the root of emotional, referring to blood. “Emorragia”, literally breaking the blood, in our opinion of this show, breaking love, breaking emotion – explains Dimitri Tetta -. The three loves that Rosaura feels towards three distinct entities are impossible loves. The impossibility of finalizing her feelings leads her to madness, or at least to what apparently seems like madness. The personalities that surround her must bring her back to reason, to normality, but who decides what is normal? For whom is it normal? There is only one way out, the resolution of the enigma, all that remains is to show Rosaura the way, 'bring her back into the world'”.
The show features Adelaide Baldini, Teresa Barbato, Mattia D'Angelo, Mariarita De Lucia, Luigi Di Biase, Elisa Ferrara, Gaetano Ferrara, Marika Frongillo, Maria Francesca Iannicelli, Ilenia Lisbino, Federica Palmente, Antimo Puca, Mariano Scuotri, Antonella Tranchino, Daniela Colella, Paolo Corso, Barbara De Gaetano, Salvatore De Leo, Giuliana Gravino, Salvatore Mangiacapra, Veronica Mele, Mariachiara Nardelli, Michele Pedata, Nicla Salve and Rosaria Truppo. The costumes are by Gina Oliva, the production is by Nostos Teatro.
