The State Police has executed a custodial detention order issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, against Salvatore Esposito of 56 years, Gennaro Sorrentino aged 49 and under house arrest, through the application of the electronic bracelet, against Francesco Esposito, 28 years old, all with criminal records.
They are accused of having committed, in collaboration with each other and with another person who is being identified, two aggravated robberies committed on 12 and 21 January 2022 to the detriment of two Post Offices in Napoli located, respectively, in Piazza Domenico Fontana and Piazza Mazzini, stealing cash contained in the cash registers.
In particular, in the first instance the perpetrators of the robbery had acted by making it appear that they were armed; in the second they had threatened the employees by pointing a gun.
In both cases, the perpetrators allegedly used motorcycles to which counterfeit license plates were affixed, disguising themselves with masks and hats, acting in the presence of employees and customers, creating considerable fear.
The investigations were carried out by analyzing footage extracted from internal and external video surveillance cameras of post offices and other public and private establishments as well as frames obtained from the so-called "license plate capturers" placed along the route taken by the criminals before and after committing the crimes.
