The Federal Council of the Figc, having read the opinions of the Covisoc and the Infrastructure Commission, has decided to admit the Lecco and instead reject the appeals of the Reggina and that of the Siena for admission to Serie C.
A decision that also excludes the Brescia from the race to participate in the next Serie B. The club of Swallows in fact he could have been admitted in the event of Lecco's failure to participate in the next cadet championship.
“We have adhered to the findings of the Covisoc opinion. Obviously the principle that fuels Serie B is that of the inviolability of the format. There will be appeals, but this must not affect the format or create prejudice.
We take note of the opinion, we await the outcome of the appeals, but the only principle is that of the inviolability of the format that has given us great results and cannot be prejudiced by factors external to the Serie B League".
Cosi Mauro Balata, President of the Serie B League, on the sidelines of the FIGC Council which decided to exclude Reggina and admit Lecco. “We know we have followed a path of fairness, all the companies have respected the concept of fair competition by investing in infrastructure. We are calm about our responsibilities”, concludes Balata.
