The medieval village of Quaglietta, on which the ancient castle stands, was born in the homonymous hamlet of Calabritto and represents the main place of interest of the Irpinia municipality.
The village, inside, is dominated by a mighty fortress, dating back to the Lombard era. Like other defensive bastions built in the Sele Valley, the castle was built to control the most important communication arteries that opened up near the river. The castle of Quaglietta, still emerges from the rocky spur on which it rests in all its grandeur. From an architectural point of view, its quadrangular shape, interrupted by a rather irregular fourth side, is embellished by the tower and the keep that rises in the center of the building.

For some years, in the medieval village of Quaglietta, an Albergo Diffuso has been offering apartments equipped with all comforts and high-quality food and wine tours. The history of its creation and activation demonstrates the desire to elevate the village and the castle to places of exchange of thoughts and languages of the soul, allowing visitors the opportunity to experience, a few steps from enchanting landscapes, recreational activities of various types and unique sensations in a magical and fairy-tale environment.

A sign of centuries-old charm that has remained unchanged over time, the medieval village of Quaglietta is an important historical testimony to the Lombard domination in Irpinia.
