As part of the surveillance dedicated to the fight against undeclared work, inspection personnel from the ITL of Naples, assisted by Carabinieri from the NIL and supported by the Provincial Carabinieri Command, carried out yet another inspection at a car wash in the metropolitan area of Naples.
The investigations revealed that all 8 workers employed in the production unit were completely “illegal”. Among these, five workers, of non-EU origin, from Sri Lanka and Eastern countries, were found to be without a residence permit.
Furthermore, an irregular Italian worker was also found to be an unduly recipient of the citizen's income. Further irregularities were found in the field of work, with particular regard to the lack of traceability of wages. The inspection staff therefore ordered the suspension of the company's activity for the employment of "illegal" personnel pursuant to art. 14 of Legislative Decree 81/1998.
The absence of any safety measures at work was also ascertained: failure to appoint the Rspp and the competent doctor, absence of the risk assessment document, lack of health surveillance and lack of information and training for the workers employed.
Administrative sanctions of approximately 50000 euros will be contested, while numerous prescription measures have been adopted in matters of health and safety for further significant amounts. The employer will be reported to the Prosecutor's Office for the illicit employment of workers without a residence permit.
