“The National Department of Civil Protection will make a plan for specific bradyseism, after the upcoming decree, to ensure that there is a complete analysis of the procedure so that the measure comes into action to safeguard the population”.
Luigi D'Angelo, the operational director for the coordination of emergencies for the national civil protection, said this at the end of the meeting in the Prefecture of Naples on bradyseism.
"We give tools to mayors - said D'Angelo - to take the necessary actions on a daily basis and also technical resources. Currently, from the analysis of the parameters, the national commission says that we are still in the yellow phase, but there are phenomena in progress, no one can say that there will be no more. I tell citizens that there is great attention from all institutions, both at the national, regional and local level, on this phenomenon and that the tools of the decree law can only facilitate the actions".
Civil Protection, population participates in exercises
"The appeal is that the entire population participate in the exercises and moments of discussion like the one held last July in Pozzuoli. The appeal is to participate in the dissemination and information activity", explained Luigi D'Angelo.
“With the Region – he added – we are imagining organizing an exercise that will be able to test the new It-alert tool, which can be important for cases like the Campania volcanoes. This will also be an opportunity to disseminate the measures envisaged by the plan”.
