Two cell phones and narcotics found at the Airola juvenile prison.
This morning, during a scrupulous surveillance and observation activity, the Penitentiary Police found, at the Juvenile Detention Center in Airola, two cell phones and narcotic substances on two inmates.
The news was given by Giuseppe Merola, national secretary of FSA CNPP, who expressed satisfaction for the appreciable work of the prison police, in safeguarding order and safety both in prison and public.
The Airola Institute has been experiencing severe organizational/managerial problems for some time, dictated by logistical and structural limitations, in addition to the presence of prisoners with problems. Last but not least, two young prisoners escaped last week (one of whom was recaptured a few days ago).
There is no more time to wait, we need immediate resolution policies, such as the immediate redevelopment of the entire structure – concludes Merola – and then start a discussion between the unions and the Management (recently installed) for a new organization of work and services.
We express our satisfaction with the professionalism of the Airola Penitentiary Police – concludes Domenico Pelliccia, Deputy General Secretary of the FSA CNPP – and we renew the invitation to the Central Administration to adopt urgent interventions to protect the entire penitentiary community.
