The Metropolitan City of Naples has awarded road maintenance works for a sum of 993 thousand euros on two important fast-flowing arteries with a high flow of traffic for both light and heavy vehicles, such as the Sp1 “Circumvallazione Esterna di Napoli” and the Sp 500 “Melito Perimeter Axis”.
Some interventions will also concern the road axes of the coastal and Vesuvian area up to Gragnano. The External Circumvallation of Naples falls within the municipalities of Naples, Giugliano in Campania, Qualiano, Mugnano, Melito, Casandrino, Arzano, Casavatore, Casoria and Volla, while the Perimeter Axis of Melito falls within the municipality of Melito di Napoli only.
The interventions will mainly concern road paving works, restoration or replacement of road expansion joints, restoration of road barriers with the installation of new restraint systems, arrangement of road intersections, through the creation of new channels, as well as restoration of vertical signs with the integration of highly reflective ones, revision of horizontal signs, restoration of tuff, stone and concrete walls constituting parapets and walls in the sections where they are damaged, or in any case such as to represent a danger for public and private safety, cleaning of the edges, appurtenances and verges, through modest earth movements and grass cutting in correspondence with the road sections subject to intervention.
