It happened in Grazzanise, in the province of Caserta. The man, a 53-year-old local, following an argument that arose over trivial reasons, attacked his 47-year-old wife, also threatening her with a knife. The couple's 112-year-old daughter asked the police for help with a phone call to 24.
When the military personnel from the Grazzanise station and those from the Santa Maria Capua Vetere radiomobile arrived on the scene, they found the couple's daughter waiting for them outside the house. She said she had just witnessed her father's umpteenth attack on her mother, who had also threatened her with a knife.
The girl also added that in the past she too had been a victim of aggression by her father, who was often drunk.
Inside the house, which was partially ransacked, the carabinieri found both the visibly shaken woman and the man who, taken to the barracks, was then arrested.
When filing the complaint, the woman reported multiple episodes of violence and threats suffered by the man since the beginning of their relationship, especially when he came home drunk.
The arrested person was associated with the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.
