The gunshots were fired at a building in the so-called “refugee district” in via Raffaele Testa. No one was injured, but it is clear that the perpetrators of the shooting did not mean to kill.
According to investigators, one of the possible targets of the intimidation could be a cousin of the Rinaldis who lives in the building. The woman, young and with no criminal record, has no connection to clan affairs.
The alarm was raised around midnight. The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile and the operational unit of the Poggioreale Company, who are conducting the investigations with the collaboration of experts from the Scientific Investigations department.
In via Raffaele Testa, at number 4, 10 7,65 caliber cartridges, typical of Camorra actions, were found and seized.
The investigation is still ongoing, but investigators are considering several hypotheses. Among these, precisely, that the shooting was an intimidation of the Rinaldis.
In the background there could be the ever-simmering conflicts between the two organized crime groups that control the illicit activities in the eastern district of Naples.
However, it cannot be ruled out that the episode may have been caused by a single incident, with no connection to “system” wars.
Gunmen riding a scooter
According to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri, there were two people responsible for the shooting, riding a scooter. One was driving and the other, taking out his gun, fired repeatedly.
There is no functioning video surveillance system in the area and the only hope for investigators to acquire images useful for the investigation is linked to private cameras.
