The prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, has ordered the suspension of the renovation works of a school in Somma Vesuviana, financed by the PNRR, as part of controls against organised crime.
The DIA coordinated an operation with the Interforce Group, composed of various entities including the Police, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, to verify any irregularities on the construction site. The investigations revealed serious violations in terms of safety at work and in the assignment of subcontracts.
Non-compliances by the Sole Procedure Manager and the company carrying out the works emerged, which led to the immediate suspension of the construction site. The Interforce Group extended the checks to the Contracting Authority, detecting further violations.
The prefect praised the work of the DIA and the members of the Interforce Group for the effective coordination of operations.
