It all started in an apartment in Calvizzano, where a heated argument between a husband and wife escalated into violence. The woman, 50 years old, managed to escape and find refuge in her brothers-in-law's home in Giugliano in Campania, but did not immediately report the incident.
The husband, however, did not give up. Determined to track down his wife, he began sending her death threats on her smartphone. Armed with a kitchen knife, the man decided to take action, taking to the streets of Villaricca. Here, he spotted a 17-year-old stopped on a scooter. Without hesitation, he punched him in the face, stealing his Honda SH.
With the stolen vehicle, the 49-year-old headed towards Giugliano, reaching the house where his wife was hiding. It was then that the call for help was made to 112. The patrols of the Giugliano radiomobile section and the Sant'Antimo station rushed to the scene with sirens blaring.
In the meantime, the man seemed possessed, determined to enter the apartment. After having torn down the shutters of a house on the first floor, he terrorized an 82-year-old woman who lived there, finally managing to enter the building. It was the timely intervention of the Carabinieri that put an end to his fury. The officers disarmed him and arrested him, preventing the situation from degenerating further.
The arrested person was transferred to prison and will have to answer for a series of serious crimes: mistreatment in the family, robbery and violation of domicile. An episode that deeply shocked the community, but thanks to the prompt response of the police, did not have tragic consequences.
