In 2024, science, history and humanities enthusiasts will embark on an exciting journey through the Stillafest National Festival dedicated to water. This event represents a tribute to a fundamental resource, crucial for survival and rich in cultural and spiritual meanings. An intellectual adventure of great impact is therefore prepared, whose aim is to promote an enriching dialogue on the essential liquid par excellence: water.
Stillafest: An Innovative Event On Water
At the “Stillafest”, announced by the president of the Stilla association, Giandomenico Maria Scelzo, in the elegant setting of Palazzo Sant'Agostino in Salerno, minds and hearts will converge. Scheduled from 7 to 9 June 2024 at the Grotte di Pertosa-Auletta, the event will be preceded by a day dedicated to schools on 31 May. The theatrical monologue “Scritto sull'acqua”, by the talented Roberto Mercadini, will contribute to the charm of the inauguration, completed by immersive educational activities.
Festival Dynamics: Art, Science and Dialogue
The formats of the meetings will be various: discussion panels, open lessons, training activities, artistic and musical performances, exhibitions and guided tours. The festival will take place within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, and will enjoy the support of various bodies and associations, including Legambiente Campania, also acting as a moment of awareness on the criticality of the availability of fresh water.
The Creative Explosion of “A Pact with the Earth”
The program also includes an exhibition, “A pact with the earth”, by the visionary Francesco Geronazzo, which invites us to reflect on the symbiosis between man and earth. In the context of the debate on climate change, the exhibition stimulates reflection on water management and how to enhance the existing natural heritage.
Integration between Tourism, Culture and Environment
Pasquale Sorrentino, Councilor Delegate for Tourism of the Province of Salerno, emphasizes the enrichment of the tourist offer with sensory experiences distributed throughout the year. The “Stillafest” becomes a fundamental piece in this strategy, acting as a connection between the treasures of the past and the future challenges for the protection of water resources.
The Thematic Richness of Stillafest
The festival's central concept, "The drop that loves the rock", lends itself to supporting the narrative of water as a source of life and a meeting place between humanity and nature. In the evocative environments of the Pertosa Auletta Caves, reflections will take place regarding the protection and healthiness of water, involving prominent guests in dialogues focused on this vital element. Round tables, musical performances, exhibitions and seminars will range over themes related to the environment, social challenges connected to water and initiatives for the enhancement of the territory.
Detailed Festival Program
Among the highlighted events, there will be conferences on various topics related to water sustainability, debates regarding the evolution of the man-water relationship in the past and present, sessions focused on the philosophy, theology and psychology of water, and meetings focused on innovations and projects dedicated to the well-being of the territory. Special attention will also be paid to women's emancipation and, more generally, to environmental issues with the aim of stimulating conscious change.
In conclusion, Stillafest promises to be an unmissable event for anyone interested in understanding, respecting and valorizing water, an essential element of our planet.
