Naples, husband and wife hit by car in via Pacioli: they are in serious conditions

A serious traffic accident rocked Via Pacioli in Naples this morning. Two pedestrians, a husband and wife, were struck by a car while crossing the street. Both were rushed to the hospital and are currently in critical condition.

The man was admitted to the Cardarelli Hospital. The woman, however, was taken to the Ospedale del Mare, where doctors are doing everything they can to stabilize her condition. The accident occurred in broad daylight. The car, a black sedan, was driven by a 48-year-old man who immediately stopped to provide assistance.

According to initial reconstructions carried out by the Local Police, the vehicle was proceeding on Via Pacioli in the direction of Strada Statale 162. The pedestrians, according to what is stated in the note from the municipality, were crossing the road from right to left with respect to the direction of travel of the vehicle, but were outside the pedestrian crossing. The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.
