Another episode of crime in Napoli. The other night, a theft attempt was foiled in a parapharmacy in Vomero. The criminals tried to force the shutter of the shop, but were put to flight by the timely intervention of the Carabinieri, alerted by a condominium member of the building.
Article Key Points
The owner of the parapharmacy, exasperated by the continuous attacks on his business, reported the incident to the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli. “In the last 4 years, this is the seventh episode of robberies and thefts”, declared the owner. “Despite the cameras and the armored shutters, thieves continue to strike. It is unacceptable that citizens have to live in this situation of fear and insecurity.”
The deputy Borrelli, together with the municipal councilors of Europa Verde Rino Nasti and Luca Bonetti, expressed his strong condemnation for the incident and launched an appeal to the Minister of the Interior: "Enough talk, we need action! We can no longer tolerate this escalation of crime. We need concrete intervention from the Government to increase the number of agents on the territory and provide law enforcement with adequate tools to combat crime."
A cry for help from the city
The episode of the parapharmacy in Vomero is only the latest in a long series of crime stories that are gripping Naples. Citizens, exasperated by the lack of security, are loudly calling for a change of direction. Security cannot be a privilege, but a right for everyone.
