Three people were forced to report to the judicial police and another is under investigation following incidents that occurred during a Serie A five-a-side football match on October 31. The events, which occurred during the match between the “Sandro Abate” team from Avellino and Futsal Napoli, led to serious charges of resisting a public official, brawling and the use of blunt weapons such as clubs and sticks.
The precautionary orders were issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Avellino after investigations conducted by the Digos of the local police headquarters. The clashes broke out when about forty Neapolitan fans threw firecrackers at the Avellino stadium, provoking a reaction from the local fans who tried to confront the visitors.
The episode saw several officers injured while trying to separate the opposing groups. The investigation was facilitated by viewing video recordings made by the Forensic Police officers, which allowed them to identify those responsible for the clashes.
