Naples. Yesterday afternoon, officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid of the State Police, during a routine territorial control service in via del Carmine, foiled a car theft and arrested two people.
The attention of the officers was drawn to two individuals who were suspiciously fiddling around the door of a parked car. At the sight of the officers, the two attempted to hide among the other parked cars, but were promptly caught and stopped.
A more thorough check revealed several burglary tools in their possession and, following further investigation, it was ascertained that the car door lock had indeed been forced.
In light of what has emerged, the two men, identified as Moroccan citizens aged 29 and 35, both with specific police records for property crimes, were arrested for attempted aggravated theft.
The timely intervention of Police of the State has allowed the two alleged thieves to be brought to justice, preventing the theft of the car and guaranteeing the safety of citizens.
