Naples. Yesterday evening, officers from the Vomero Police Station intervened at the Cardarelli Hospital following a report of an assault on two security guards.
According to initial reports, a 47-year-old woman, already under house arrest, was smoking a cigarette inside the Emergency Room when she was asked by security guards to put it out.
The woman reacted vehemently, railing against the guards and physically attacking them.
The police officers who intervened on the scene identified the woman and confirmed that she was under house arrest. The 47-year-old was then arrested for evasion, personal injury and resistance to a public official.
This is not the first time that episodes of violence have occurred inside the Cardarelli Hospital. Last June, a man attacked a nurse because he was denied access to a pizza in the Emergency Room.
