On July 4, 2024, the vibrant Salerno Danza Festival continues, an event that will take place until July 31 at the picturesque Giardino degli Ulivi in Ascea. Organized by CDTM – Circuito Campano della Danza and recognized by MiC, the festival is supported by the Campania Region and offers performances by renowned international companies, located in breathtaking natural settings.

After the International Opening

After an initial phase of the festival that saw the participation of companies from Poland, France and Italy, in close collaboration with the “Desiderio” Project of the Campania Regional Museums Directorate, the program continues with new performances by three Italian companies on 6 and 7 July.

Saturday 6th July: Arabesque Association in “Stravaganza”

On Saturday, July 6, the Arabesque Association of Naples presents “Stravaganza,” a sublime work by Fernando Suels Mendoza performed by Roberta De Rosa. Active for thirty years, the association uses this performance to celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of the individual. The dance aims to explore originality and authenticity, going beyond the boundaries of normality and embracing freedom of expression.

Sunday 7th July: Adarte and Déjà Donné

On July 7, the Giardino degli Ulivi will be the stage for a double extraordinary performance. First, the Compagnia Adarte from Tuscany presents “Perdutamente,” a short but intense 18-minute show choreographed by Paola Vezzosi and performed by Lorenzo Di Rocco and Jennifer Lavinia Rosati. The theme is inspired by the epic love of Romeo and Juliet. Following, the Milanese Compagnia Déjà Donné will perform “Mandibola,” a choreography by Virginia Spallarossa inspired by boxing as a metaphor for the fight for survival, representing human resistance through the physicality of boxing.
