This important event will mark the closing of a cultural season full of events at the historic villa.
Exhibition “Inhabitants of an Elsewhere”: Sandro Chia and the Bond with Munthe
Fondazione San Michele, together with the Associazione Il Rosaio – Arte e Cultura Contemporanea, presents the exhibition “Inhabitants of an Elsewhere. Sandro Chia meets Axel Munthe”. Curated by Arianna Rosica and Gianluca Riccio, this exhibition is a visual tribute to Munthe. Sandro Chia, a leading figure of the Transavanguardia, has developed a series of exclusive works for the event. The works establish a dialogue between past and present thanks to an innovative installation that combines historical images of Munthe in Anacapri with Chia’s vibrant tempera paintings.
Evening of Art and Music
The inauguration of the event will not only offer a visual artistic experience, but will also involve words and music. Mario Staiano and Marco Multari will enliven the event with texts inspired by the book “Red Cross and Iron Cross” by Axel Munthe.
