All Saints' Day Bridge – On the occasion of the All Saints' Day bridge, there will be almost ten million Italians ready to leave, including last-minute travellers, to take advantage of the only real autumn bridge of 2023.
According to estimates by Confcommercio, the overall spending of holidaymakers will touch 3,5 billion euros, with cities of art and mountain resorts at the top of the preferences, chosen by four out of ten tourists. On the other hand, interest in seaside destinations is decreasing, down five points compared to last year, thanks to a less prolonged summer season. As for accommodation, almost two-thirds of Italians will opt for tourist facilities, with over half of those interviewed opting for hotels. Hospitality with friends or relatives and second homes will be chosen by 24% of vacationers, a share slightly down from 28% in 2022.
Trips abroad are halved this year, also due to the lower availability of vacation days: last year, with November 1st falling on a Wednesday, two days of vacation were enough for a prolonged break. This year, however, 50% of Italians will prefer a long weekend of three days with two overnight stays. However, the propensity to move towards more distant Italian destinations is increasing: over 50% of those interviewed plan to leave their own region, focusing on destinations such as Toscana, Lazio and Campania, with Puglia, Lombardy, Sicily and Trentino Alto Adige to follow.
